When did you join Miramar and what does your current role entail?

I joined Miramar in 2017 as a property underwriter. I moved to a hybrid team leader and underwriter role in 2019, and in June 2022 I was appointed Southern Region Manager.

I’m still involved in underwriting, but I have responsibility across all lines of our business for Victoria, Tasmania and South Australia, building and maintaining relationships with our brokers in those states.

How did you get into the insurance industry?

My mum worked in insurance for RACV Insurance many years ago. I was looking for a career and I wanted a job that I could progress in, with different opportunities available.

In 2002, I interviewed with CGU and got a job in the national call centre in Melbourne – it all started there.

Where did your career journey take you after that?

Earlier in my career I also worked at insurance broker IC Frith, before I left insurance for a few years to work in my dad’s business, recycling 44-gallon steel drums.

When I rejoined the insurance industry in 2014, I worked at Allianz for a few years before moving to Miramar.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I enjoy spending time with my fur baby, my dog Benson. I love music, so I go to a lot of gigs with friends, and also enjoy V8 Supercars. I’m also a member of St Kilda AFL football club and go to matches whenever I can.  I recently bought my first house, so I expect that will take up a lot of my time going forward.

What’s something people may not know about you?

I once bowled a 300-point perfect game in ten pin bowling. I used to bowl competitively up until about a year ago and bowled a perfect game in practice when I was younger.
